Inside ABA Therapy

Understanding The ABA Process

Explore the structure behind ABA therapy and how each element supports your child’s growth.

ABA therapy begins with a personalized assessment to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Based on this, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) creates a custom treatment plan focused on key developmental areas like communication, behavior, and social interaction. These goals are broken into small, achievable steps.

During sessions, a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works 1-on-1 with your child, using positive reinforcement to encourage success. Progress is tracked closely, and adjustments are made as needed. This structured, evidence-based approach helps children build eal skills at their own pace.

Your child will work directly with an RBT, which is a trained therapist who guides them through their daily sessions using the techniques designed by the BCBA. RBTs are compassionate, patient, and trained to adapt in the moment based on your child’s responses and emotions.

Overseeing the therapy plan is the BCBA, who assesses progress, updates goals, and ensures everything stays tailored to your child’s evolving needs. Parents and caregivers are also a key part of the team, we welcome collaboration, questions, and involvement throughout the journey.

ABA therapy is designed to produce measurable change, and you’ll start to notice improvements in communication, social skills, emotional regulation, and daily living tasks. Each child progresses differently, but the structure of ABA ensures no effort is wasted, every session has a purpose.

You’ll receive regular updates from your clinical team, including clear data on goals and milestones. More importantly, you’ll see those wins in real life, from fewer meltdowns to first words, better focus, or stronger social connections. That’s the Spark difference.
